Chey's Sailing Adventures
 |
Sometimes the sailing is fun for people, but just
too much hard work for the birds! |
 |
This is Alpha, off the island of Skye
in Scotland. She's a Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter and was built in
1904. I sailed her around the Scottish Isles and from Scotland to
France and Portugal. |
 |
This is Britannia. She's a trawler built in the late
1800's. The North Sea and the Atlantic around Scotland are COLD. The
boat was heated with a small iron stove that burned peat. |
 |
Aboard Alpha on our way to France from Scotland. That's
Britannia in the distance. |
 |
At the end of two weeks on the water, all pretense
of keeping up your appearance goes overboard. I'm just so glad to
see the shore at this point! |
 |
I don't remember the name of this boat, but she's
a 60' Oyster Swan, moored at the Isle of Wight. One of my trips in
around the area - this happens to be near the Needles. |
 |
If I can't be sailing, this is the next best thing...
walking on the beach with my dog, Briah. |
 |
Nothing's better ashore than watching the water. |
